Colorectal Cancer Overview

Discovering and Delivering Compassionate, Coordinated Care

Colon, or colorectal, cancer starts in the colon (large intestine) or the rectum (end of the colon). Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States according to the American Cancer Society. Early diagnosis often leads to a complete cure.

If you are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, you can count on us for the most advanced diagnostic services and care — all provided by highly trained specialists in a private and comfortable environment.

Our colorectal surgeons work with specialists throughout our system to evaluate warning signs and early colorectal cancer symptoms. This approach to excellence allows us to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions promptly.

When appropriate for patients, our surgeons perform minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery. Our latest advances in procedures use cutting-edge robotic colorectal resections and single-port colon resections, which require smaller incisions. Patients who undergo minimally invasive surgery  often experience less pain and quicker recoveries. This includes the use of the daVinci S robotic surgery system
